The Finium Evidence Standard
Every evidence file states exactly what it meets.
The standard below defines what Finium records, how integrity is protected, and what each level of the evidence ladder requires. It is the specification our Integrity Guarantee is measured against.
The evidence ladder
Each file declares the highest level it satisfies. No level is claimed without the requirements beneath it.
| Level | What it requires |
|---|---|
01Captured | Source URL, account or profile identifiers, and media recorded. |
02Preserved | Screenshots, source metadata, HTML and media where possible. |
03Timestamped | Capture time recorded in UTC with the timestamp source documented. |
04Tamper-evident | SHA-256 hash at capture plus a complete custody event log. |
05Lawyer-ready | Chronology, exhibits, harm-category tags, structured export. |
→Review-ready and beyond | Whether a file supports a specific legal step is always a judgment for counsel. Finium documents the record; qualified reviewers and counsel decide what it carries. |
The specification
Capture
- Source URL and platform context recorded at capture
- Visible account and profile identifiers preserved
- Full-page screenshot; HTML and media files where possible
- Capture conditions recorded with the artifact
Integrity
- SHA-256 hash computed at capture for every artifact
- Custody event log: who captured what, when, and what happened since
- No in-place edits — later processing is recorded as separate events
- Timestamps in UTC with documented source
Structure
- Chronology in matter time across platforms and accounts
- Every statement labeled by basis: observed, reported, or custody
- Harm-category tags and jurisdiction notes
- Uncertainty stated explicitly, never smoothed over
Export
- PDF report, exhibit set, custody log, machine-readable JSON
- Role-based access; access is logged
- Exports versioned and recorded as custody events
Integrity Guarantee
If a file fails our standard, we re-produce it free and refund the fee.
The guarantee covers what Finium controls: our documented capture, hash, timestamp, and chain-of-custody standard. It does not extend to legal outcomes, which depend on counsel, procedure, and jurisdiction.
Boundaries
- Finium is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
- Finium does not guarantee takedowns, platform outcomes, or the result of any proceeding.
- The law firm or qualified counsel remains the legal actor.
- Finium handles capture, preservation, chronology, custody records, and structured export.
